Metal fan propellers range from 2 to 48 inches in diameter, typically with 3 to 10 blades, and are preferred for larger, high static pressure systems. They may be painted or coated with galvalume (a zinc, aluminum, and silicon blend) for protection and appearance, making them suitable for extreme temperature environments. However, paint may chip, exposing metal to corrosion. Despite their durability, metal blades can still rust or react to chemicals, and they tend to produce more noise at high speeds due to metal vibration.
