Plastic fans are made from polypropylene or composite plastic resins, with propeller diameters ranging from 2½ to 8 inches and 4 to 6 blades, suitable for low static pressure applications. The plastic may be colored for aesthetics or to include additives like UV protection and corrosion resistance. Because the color is embedded throughout, fading is minimal. Larger fan blades require additional additives to increase stiffness for variable static pressure conditions.
