Description
The Taparia 813 is a compact, pocket-sized 130mm electrical line tester designed to safely test live AC electrical mains up to 500 Volts. Commonly referred to as the “small” variant, it features a distinct yellow cellulose acetate handle and is a staple tool for professional electricians and home DIY use.
Key Features
- Live Voltage Indicator: Features a built-in neon glow lamp that brightly illuminates when the tip touches a “live” or “phase” wire.
- Shockproof Safety: Equipped with a built-in 1 Mega-Ohm resistor that limits the maximum leakage current to a safe 0.21 mA, ensuring completely shockproof handling.
- Fully Insulated Blade: The blade is wrapped in a protective PVC insulation sleeve to prevent accidental shorts when testing in cramped electrical boards.
- Durable Construction: The rod is forged from high-grade silicon-manganese steel, providing excellent spring and wear resistance.
- Pocket Clip: Includes an integrated metal pocket clip for convenient, everyday carry like a pen.
Proper Usage Method
To test a point, place the metal tip of the screwdriver into the socket or onto the bare wire, then place your thumb or finger firmly onto the metal earthing clip at the top of the handle. If the wire is live, the neon bulb inside the transparent yellow handle will glow.
